On February 15, 2026, the Biology Research Center, affiliated with the General Directorate of Scientific Research Centers at the University of Zakho, organized a specialized workshop entitled “Turning Ideas into Funded Projects: A Practical Workshop on Proposal Writing.”

The event was attended by the Director General of the Scientific Research Centers, Dr. Dindar S. Barii, and, Director of the Biology Research Center, Dr. Shamiran S. Abdulrahman, along with a number of researchers and university academics. The workshop was delivered by Dr. Rufael S. Toma in both seminar and practical formats. It focused on equipping participants with the essential skills required to develop research ideas into competitive, fundable project proposals, emphasizing practical methodologies in proposal writing and project design.
