University of Zakho Organizes a Book Donation Campaign for the Public Library of Chamchamal

Under the slogan “From the University Staff Libraries to the Public Library of the City of Chamchamal,” the University of Zakho organized a book donation campaign.

On Monday, dated 19/12/2025, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Diyar Abdulkarim Saeed, President of the University, along with the Vice Presidents and members of the university staff, including faculty members and employees, the University of Zakho organized this book donation activity at the University Presidency.

As is well known, the recent devastating disaster that struck our region deeply affected all citizens, particularly the severe damage inflicted on the city of Chamchamal, where its public library and cultural, intellectual, and knowledge centers were completely destroyed. In response to this tragedy, and out of a sense of responsibility and respect for the power of knowledge and science, the University of Zakho proudly undertook this noble mission of rebuilding the public library, dedicating all its capabilities and support to this major campaign for collecting books.

The books being collected will not only compensate for what was lost, but will also stand as a symbol of national commitment to knowledge, awareness, and intellectual revival, and will form a new foundation for the Public Library of Chamchamal.

The University of Zakho extends its unlimited gratitude and appreciation to its devoted staff members who played a key role in supporting this initiative. Their sincere contributions of books to this campaign represent a great humanitarian act, demonstrating that in times of disaster, the true measure of society lies in the solidarity and generosity of its people in rebuilding and restoring life.

For information: This campaign will continue until Thursday, dated 18/12/2025.
