University of Zakho Completes Training Course on New Employability and Entrepreneurship Courses

In accordance with the decision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to introduce two new courses related to employability and entrepreneurship into the academic curricula across universities in the Kurdistan Region, the University of Zakho has completed a specialized training course designed to support the implementation of these courses. A certificate distribution ceremony was held at the conclusion of the training.

The eight-day training course was delivered to 20 faculty members from the University of Zakho by two experienced trainers, Lawand Akram Mohammed and Farhad Salim Jamil. At the closing ceremony, attended by Prof. Dr. Jasim Mohammed Abdo, Assistant President of the University of Zakho for Scientific and Higher Education Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ramadan Jaafar Mustafa, Assistant President of the University of Zakho for Student Affairs, and the Director of University Relations, certificates of participation were presented to the participants.

Initial Implementation Phase

During the initial phase, the two courses will be introduced exclusively in the Colleges of Science and Engineering. Accordingly, two faculty members from each relevant academic department have been designated to teach the courses. Following an evaluation of this initial phase and an assessment of its outcomes, the initiative will be expanded to other departments and colleges across the University.

A key feature of these courses is their fully practical and application-oriented teaching methodology, which differs from conventional theory-based approaches. As part of the assessment process, each student will be required to develop and present an individual practical project at the end of the course. The project will then be academically evaluated by the respective course instructor.

It is worth noting that the implementation and delivery of these two courses across the University of Zakho will be carried out under the direct supervision and oversight of the Career Development Center (CDC) at the University of Zakho.
