The College of Basic Education at the University of Zakho organized its Third International Scientific Conference on Psychological and Human Sciences, bringing together academic and educational institutions to advance innovative and sustainable approaches in the humanities.

Held under the theme “Human Sciences Towards Innovative Education and Sustainable Development,” the conference commenced on Sunday, May 3, 2026. It was organized in collaboration with several academic and educational institutions, including the College of Education at University of Al-Qadisiyah, the General Directorate of Education of Al-Karkh II, and the Al-Furatain Foundation for Development and Improvement.

It is noteworthy that this conference is considered the first of its kind for the College of Basic Education at the University of Zakho, while it represents the third conference for the participating partner institutions.

The event witnessed the participation of a distinguished group of academic and administrative figures, including:

• Dr. Jassim M. Abdo, Vice President of the University for Scientific Affairs
• Dr. Ramadan J. Mstafa, Vice President for Student Affairs.
• Dr. Dilbreen A. Ali, Dean of the College of Basic Education.
• The General Director of Education in Zakho, alongside a number of faculty members, researchers, and university students.

The conference is scheduled to continue for two days, featuring a series of scientific presentations in the fields of psychology and human sciences. The main themes of the presented research focus on:

• The role and importance of psychological sciences in the development of the education sector.
• Exploring new scientific approaches to addressing psychological and social challenges within educational institutions.
• Exchanging academic expertise between universities and participating educational organizations.
• This conference represents a significant academic platform for researchers to present their findings and insights on human and educational development, contributing to the promotion of a healthy and knowledge-based environment that supports future societal advancement.
