Psychopedagogy in Education: Understanding Learners as the Foundation of Effective Teaching
As part of the Pedagogical Training Course – Round 14 at the University of Zakho, an interactive activity entitled “Web of Connections” was implemented within the Student-Centered Learning (SCL) Module.
The activity focused on linking diverse student characteristics with appropriate pedagogical responses, highlighting the importance of psychopedagogical awareness in creating inclusive, supportive, and effective learning environments.
The session emphasized that successful teaching goes beyond content delivery; it requires understanding learners’ psychological, social, and academic needs in order to respond with meaningful educational strategies that enhance engagement, participation, and learning outcomes.
The module was delivered under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sattar Jabbar Haji, responsible for teaching the SCL Module, accompanied by Assistant Lecturer Nisreen Jalal, within the Pedagogical Training Program at the University of Zakho.
As part of its ongoing efforts to maintain high standards of training quality and educational excellence, the academic team of the Directorate of Zakho Pedagogy Center continuously designs and implements interactive activities that bridge pedagogical theory and practice (practical application of pedagogical concepts), ensuring meaningful, engaging, and effective learning experiences for course participants.
